Apex Veterinary Center is looking for a dependable, compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our growing small-animal practice.

We’re building a clinic focused on exceptional patient care, modern veterinary medicine, and a supportive team environment. This position is a great fit for someone who enjoys staying busy, takes initiative, communicates well, and genuinely cares about animals and the people who love them.

What You’ll Do

  • Assist the veterinarian and veterinary technician during appointments, treatments, and procedures

  • Safely handle and restrain dogs and cats

  • Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas

  • Clean and sterilize instruments and equipment

  • Assist with laboratory work and radiographs

  • Help with surgery preparation and patient recovery

  • Maintain accurate patient records

  • Help keep the clinic clean, organized, and running efficiently

  • Support clients with patience, kindness, and professionalism

What We’re Looking For

  • Dependable, positive, and willing to learn

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to take initiative

  • Able to communicate effectively with clients and coworkers

  • Comfortable handling dogs and cats of different sizes and temperaments

  • Able to lift approximately 50 pounds and spend extended periods of time standing

Previous veterinary or animal-care experience is preferred, but we’re willing to train the right person.
